When opening My Network Places, it became obvious that as it searched for Network devices and connections, it was taking longer and longer. A quick fix is to open My Network Places, to do this follow the next steps:

1. Go to Tools, then Folder Options (see picture 1).

2. Select the tab View (see picture 2).

3. Then uncheck the very 1st choice, Automatically search for network folders and printers. This will undoubtedly speed up the display (see picture 3).
